Click on any color to change the chat color. Click on the items in the first row to change the background as well. You might not see the background on the PC. But if you open the Messenger app on mobile, you will see a new background for your chat.

Screen sharing allows you to scroll through your photos, surf social media or shop together online with friends more easily than before, Facebook said. Room creators can determine whether to limit the ability to screen share to just themselves or make it available to all participants on the call. Zoom offers participants the to customize their video-chatting experiences with customizable names, virtual backgrounds, and emoji reactions. Users can also share their screens no matter if they are on a desktop, phone, or tablet.
When starting a new conversation, you can either choose to message people individually or create a group. You can change the name and icon of the group, give the chat a thematic background, give users in the group nicknames, and/or send oversized emojis and reactions supplied by Facebook.
People can send posts, text messages, video chat and call one another, create group chats with unique names, and give each chat a thematic background to go with it. Messages can be reacted to with any emoji the responder wants to use.
I have my blue tooth shut off for facebook and it still allows facebook background activity. This did not start until did latest update. You are unable to shut off the refresh background app in settings when you open it for Facebook. Hopefully this get fixed sooner rather than later.
Facebook's official messenger app is the obvious way for many smartphone users to chat and share content with their social media contacts. Since Facebook deactivated the messaging feature within their mobile app, users appear to have no choice but to switch to the separate Messenger app. This becomes especially annoying when you realize that the app always runs in the background, consuming both battery power and data. This should also ring alarm bells when it comes to data protection. Facebook Messenger constantly scans internal data such as contacts, browser history, calendar info, and even GPS data.
You are correct, the form to report a problem is not accessible in the facebook app itself. However, I was able to go to facebook.com/accessibility and use the contact us link on their page to fill out the form to report the issue by using safari. Not ideal, but at least I was able to get it done. Here's to hoping they fix this latest problem sooner rather than later, because it is frustrating not to be able to read statuses, and I sure am not going to try to tell all of my friends that they can't use the background colors.
